There's nothing left to say and no gain in repeating the same sentiments about the endless cycle of tragedy, commentary, outrage, complacency, promises, inaction, over and over and over again - from shootings to war to poverty to refugees to pandemic to climate change to every structural issue and crisis.

Instead we need a revolution of values, a deep transformation, beginning with every one of us breaking free of that cycle.

Thinking of joining an #indieweb webring but I don't like the clutter it adds to the footer of my site, and some of them seem to require that you have their link on your homepage at least. Wonder if I can get away with hiding them in a <details> element.

One overlooked #mastodon feature I enjoy is knowing that reading a toot or opening an image isn't contributing to some advertising algorithm's dataset on me and my purchasing preferences.

I own a lot of consoles, but in my opinion the PS2 is the greatest home console of all time.

The features like the DVD drive were amazing. But features alone don't make a console.

This baby had an amazing library of games, both in quality and volume. It's worth it for God of War alone. But also: Okami, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry.

IMO, this console doesn't get enough love—perhaps because it sold so well! But truth be told, this is the console I play most often.

Certainly not the biggest bummer of the pandemic, but it is a bummer that every mediocre social outing now comes with a feeling of, “ugh, that wasn’t worth the risk budget.”

After trying it out in 2018 or 2019, almost 3 months ago I re-joined Mastodon. It was a big deal for me, since I distrust every social network out there.

Despite the apparent similarity to other sites, Mastodon – and the Fediverse in general – is not even in the same league.

In less than 3 months I've found interesting and helpful people, thoughtful debates, sincere posts and general openness. A complete departure from "before".

I'm in my 50s and this is the web I remember from the 1.0 days.
